build a tech-culture fusion platform in Asia

A two-day long International Symposium
on Tech-cultural Exchange beyond Cyber Performance has started today in the
Samson H. Chowdhury Centre of Dhaka Club. The title of the Symposium is
"Cultural Transformation in Digital
Ecosystem".
Experts on Cyber Performance from France, Spain, Japan,
South Korea, Malaysia, Vietnam, India and Nepal attended the Symposium.
Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN) organized the Symposium.
Prof. Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh formally
inaugurated the Symposium as the Chief Guest in an inaugural ceremony chaired
by Professor Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain, Member, UGC. A K M Habibur Rahman, Chief
Executive Officer, BdREN delivered the welcome speech.
The
symposium is one of the activities under Asi@Connect Project titled “Training
Programs to establish a tech-culture fusion platform for the beneficiary
countries” undertaken by Next Inc. (South Korea), MYREN (Malaysia) and VinaREN
(Vietnam).
About Cyber Performance Project The project awarded under Asi@Connect program. The project centers on 5 beneficiary
countries (India, Malaysia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and Pakistan) and 1 non-beneficiary country
(South Korea). Experts in the field of cyber performance from the advanced nations such as
Konic Theatre (i2cat, Barcelona, SP) and Academy of performing Arts (CESNET, Prague, CZ) are
involved in implementing the project.
The ultimate goal of the project is to build up a sustainable basis of discussion and collaboration
with beneficiary and non-beneficiary countries involved in tech-culture fusion issues using the
TEIN network.
About BdREN
Bangladesh Research and Education Network (BdREN) is a high-speed data communication
network established under Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP) and designed
to meet up specialized requirements of the academic and research communities. University
Grants Commission of Bangladesh has been implementing this project with financing from the
World Bank. Till today BdREN successfully connected 34 public universities and 5
private/international universities in the network.
