3rd Joint TransPAC4-APAN-TEIN-Internet2 perfSONAR workshop

perfSONAR is an open source software suite that provides a robust set of network performance monitoring tools. These tools make it easier to solve end-to-end network performance problems on paths crossing different network domains, as well as local monitoring.  The perfSONAR toolkit provides a federated performance environment that is now the defacto measurement standard deploy on REN globally.  This workshop is the THIRD in the series of perfSONAR workshop that is jointly organised by TransPAC4, Internet2, TEIN project and APAN.  The workshop will take a “deep dive” into the perfSONAR problem resolution and effective usage.  It will have a brief overview and update on perfSONAR toolkit.  The workshop will focus on the Monitoring and Debugging Dashboard(MaDDash) part of the perfSONAR project. MaDDash allows you to create a matrix of perfSONAR nodes and show measurement results in an easily read graphical format. This allows you to quickly see troubled links on paths you may deem critical. During this workshop we will cover the basic installation of MaDDash on an already existing perfSONAR node. We will also discuss real world examples of troubleshooting using MaDDash and perfSONAR. We will finish the class with a group discussion centered around getting the APAN MaDDash fully operational. Program : Workshop agenda(link)
