TEIN*CC to Establish Trans Eurasia Information Network

TEIN*CC (Trans-Eurasia Information Network* Corporation Center) has recently been established, and it will support the establishment and operation of the Trans-Eurasia Information Network (TEIN).
As an affiliated organization of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), TEIN*CC will not only operate and manage TEIN, which connects information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructures between 18 Asian countries and Europe, but also promote international joint research.
Lee Tae-hee, the formal spokesperson of the Korea Communications Commission (KCC), has been selected as the first secretary general of TEIN*CC.
With the leadership of South Korea, the TEIN Initiative was first endorsed by ASEM3, which was held in Seoul in October of 2000.
As part of the 4th project, TEIN*CC will establish this super speed international research network by March of 2016 in order to play the role of accelerating international joint research in high-tech fields, such as information and communications and biotechnology
Along with the establishment and operation of the international research network, TEIN*CC is planning to support developing nations in increasing ICT technology and services as well as vitalizing research cooperation.
