| Information and Network Security (and Monitoring) Workshop | |

Information security has become very important with proliferation of ICT services. However, Information security has not been able to gain much attention in Bhutan partly because most of the efforts were focused on development of the infrastructure itself.
To counter these ever increasing threats, Bhutan has taken modest efforts through implementation of numerous measures such as deployment of virtual private network and other good encryption measures in sensitive networks. However, there still remains a gap in the competency of system administrators vis-a-vis the security requirements of systems and networks.
50 local participants will join this workshop envisaged to fill the identified gap. Through the workshop, they are expected to have some skills and knowledge for conducting regular security audits, real-time network monitoring and interpreting the data thus far gathered into important security alerts and messages.
