TEIN Youth E-Culture Exchange (Youth ECX) Workshop will open from 19 to 21 November 2016 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Our cultural heritage is in dire need to be preserved as a ‘living heritage’ for our future generation. We need recorders and archivers who are vibrant, creative and passionate to preserve their living heritage. Baby boomers may lead the way up to a point but the baton has to be passed on to the Generations X,Y and now Z. It is a known fact that these generations are fond of capturing moments on digital media of their events, environments and communities.. Hence, this workshop is aimed to harness this very interest of youths towards digitizing cultural heritage and popular culture from their own perspectives. Moreover, the workshop contents aims to hone the skills of participating youths to produce quality user generated content (UGCs) (photos, videos and writings) by using simple digital tools such as smartphones and Windows Moviemaker and to publish them in popular social media platforms.
The specific objectives are: - To produce e- cultural heritage materials
- To create e-culture profiles of participating countries
- To empower participants with simple yet life-long digital technology know-how
- To train participants as trainers of e-culture workshops for their respective countries
