| TEIN*CC signs MoU with NIA for promoting International Collaborations | |

TEIN*CC has signed MoU(a memorandum of understanding) on last February with NIA (National Information Society Agency) to broaden global network connectivity, to promote applications and to develop e-infrastructure during Asi@Connect project.
Asi@Connect project is the successor of TEIN project, which had managed global R&E network between Asia and Europe. In the Asi@Connect project, TEIN*CC will focus on promoting and activating International collaborations with connecting Asia partners (24 countries/economics) to each other and to their counterparts in Europe.
NIA has also managed KOREN (Korea Research and Education Network), to further develop collaborative projects and broaden cyber-infrastructure within Asia region based on TEIN network. Under this agreement, TEIN*CC-NIA will expect to develop global e-infrastructure for collaborations and co-operations among scientists and researchers through TEIN-KOREN collaboration.
The President of TEIN*CC said, “Our agreement will be a chance to make the circumstance of R&E collaboration activities. We expect to be a gateway of Asia by leading more collaborative projects and applications within Asia Communities during Asi@Connect project.”
Head of NIA said, “KOREN-TEIN collaboration will strengthen networking of Korea to Asia region, furthermore the global network connectivity. We expect to broaden collaborative projects and applications between Korea and Asia region.”
This collaboration agreement shall have effect for the duration of the Asi@Connect project (expected to run by 2021). |
