TEIN Youth E-Culture Exchange (Youth ECX) Workshop

TEIN Youth E-Culture Exchange (Youth ECX) Workshop will open from 19 to 21 November 2016 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Our cultural heritage is in dire need to be preserved as a ‘living heritage’ for our future generation. We need recorders and archivers who are vibrant, creative and passionate to preserve their living heritage. Baby boomers may lead the way up to a point but the baton has to be passed on to the Generations X,Y and now Z. It is a known fact that these generations are fond of capturing moments on digital media of their events, environments and communities.. Hence, this workshop is aimed to harness this very interest of youths towards digitizing cultural heritage and popular culture from their own perspectives. Moreover, the workshop contents aims to hone the skills of participating youths to produce quality user generated content (UGCs) (photos, videos and writings) by using simple digital tools such as smartphones and Windows Moviemaker and to publish them in popular social media platforms. The specific objectives are:- To produce e- cultural heritage materials - To create e-culture profiles of participating countries - To empower participants with simple yet life-long digital technology know-how - To train participants as trainers of e-culture workshops for their respective countries This project has received funding from the European Union under grant contract no 2011/281-226(TEIN-4 project).

Bangladesh Campus Network Design and Operation Workshop

Bangladesh Campus Network Design and Operation WorkshopAmong 34 public universities in Bangladesh, 15 universities have already commenced their campus networks. Design and implementation of the campus network in the rest 19 public universities is going on under the guidance of BdREN. In this situation, this workshop aims to train university network engineering staffs on how to develop a strategic design plan for their campus network, provide implementation of best practice in campus network design, with particular emphasis on different network layers, and develop technical skills among the campus network engineers on different techniques of campus network operation, management and monitoring. This 5-day long training course will include major topics involving planning, designing, deploying and managing campus networks. The course is designed with the necessary theories, best practices and hands-on lab sessions in a multidimensional learning. This project has received funding from the European Union under grant contract no 2011/281-226(TEIN-4 project).?

Telemedicine in Nepal - Sharing for Synergy

On 9-10 September 2016, Two major organisations involved in this sector, Nepal Research and Education Network (NREN) and Telemedicine Society of Nepal (TMSoN) jointly organise this workshop: Telemedicine in Nepal - Sharing for Synergy   In a country like Nepal, where remoteness is not only in terms of distance but the lack of interconnecting roads or trails to be true, hard geographical terrain, difficult weather conditions make the nearest health posts inaccessible to the villagers.  In addition to these factors, natural disasters at times like landslides, floods and even earth quakes impose further difficulties in accessing the minimal available health care services usually situated may be hours or days walk from the villages. Telemedicine is the best way to provide health care services to people residing in such areas and to provide continuing medical education to the health care workers stationed in remote areas.    Therefore, a lot of institutions which provide telemedicine services understand the need of Information Communication Technology for Health (ICT4H), the key technology in Telemedicine. However, individual endeavors are not adequate to answer this major issue. The purpose of this workshop is to bring together all such individuals on a single platform where they can share their experiences and ideas for the future work.    This project has received funding from the European Union under grant contract no 2011/281-226(TEIN-4 project).
